Movies in The Park

One of the great summer traditions in Nashville is Movies in the Park. Every year, for the past 25 I believe, movies are shown in the pare every Wednesday evening in June.

I try an make it to as many as I can, it is a fun thing to do with family and friends. They give away free stuff, you can enter your name in for drawings, and you get to spend the evening outside watching a movie. We like to pack a dinner, or pick something up on the way. But there are generally food vendors around so if you want to get something there you can!

Last night was the last movie in the park for the year, they showed Where the Wild Things Are. Which I must say I felt depressed after the movie was over, and it is not a good movie for little kids.

This summer I only made it to 3 of the 5 movies. The first one was Sand Lot, what a perfect movie to see outside with 500 new friends. The next week was Legally Blond, also so much fun!

I seem to be pretty lucky at the MITP because the two weeks I entered my name in for the drawing I won $50 gift cards. One to a spa and one to Merrell shoes. I was feeling really nice and gave the Merrell one to Casey, he had been trying to win that every week we were there. I kept the Spa gift certificate however, I am looking forward to a new haircut! :)

This is just one of the things I love about summer in Nashville!
